I can paint you a beautiful picture
With less than a thousand words
But when you don't care to see it
My effort just seems absurd
This is not writer's block
The ideas are all there
It's a loss of motivation
When I've no longer a reason to care
To pour my heart out like a book
No longer makes any sense
When the burden's too hard to carry -
Indifference is my defence
Sometimes it feels like somehow
God isn't quite enough
But the times that I am most empty
Is when I leave Him and chase other stuff
We each have a longing for glory
In what others think about us
But our lives are just part of His story
And everything else turns to dust
The weight of the passions He gave me
Nothing in this world can quench
When the burden's too hard to carry -
Indifference is my defence
When I find that I am alone
I don't like the company
'Cause I neither want to talk to
My Maker nor my inner me
I can paint you a beautiful picture
With less than a thousand words
The beauty comes from the sadness
Which the soul wishes it never heard
To pour my heart out like a book
No longer makes any sense
When the burden's too hard to carry -
Indifference is my defence
