oh... CHRISTmas tree...

I was plotting to write about the cotroversy over whether it should be called a "Christmas Tree" or a "Holiday Tree"; how the promotion of multiculteralism tries to make this Christian symbol a symbol of other beliefs; how these non-Christian groups don't like being placed under a Christian symbol; how this tree was originally a pagan idea, and Christians shouldn't worry about defending it; how Dec 25 was also originally a pagan holiday, but Christianity took it over; how the Christmas trees could therefore be used for evangelism; how they've become secular, and evengilism in this way won't work because atheists put up trees too; how we shouldn't kill trees; and how the only purposes of these trees are (1) bringing the family together while decorating it (if that even happens) and (2) having a place to put presents under (don't get me started on presents). But that sums it up nicely.

I was also going to complain about certain songs, such as 'Silent Night' (with angels and shepherds rejoicing, it would not have been silent - the Bible is full of excitement) and 'We Three Kings' (an unknow number of magi, who were probably astrologers with a larger caravan (Jesus seems to have grander parties)), but this takes me to a movie I just rented called "The Forth Wise Man."

So I'll talk about that. The story of the forth wise man goes like this: he used his life fortune to buy two gems and a pearl for his gifts; got left behind; arrived at Bethlehem late; spends the rest of the movie trying to find Christ while helping other people.
